A Bright Idea
Once upon a time, over a century ago to be kind of exact, a young Thomas Edison was hunched miserably over his homework in the dim light of a flickering candle. "It's really hard to see my work," he thought to himself. "Wouldn't it be amazing if I were able to invent a kind of light that used electricity to run and was way brighter and less flammable than a candle? Then I could use the light of my new prototype to... invent lots of other cool things like phonographs and movie cameras instead of doing my homework. Yay!"
