This is a safe sharing space (at least, we hope so…hi!), so we’re just going to share something with you for a moment: There’s one kind of weird but also really fun thing that always comes to mind whenever we think about or talk about Tennessee, and we just feel like we have to get it all out here. Because, again: Safe sharing space!

The one thing we always think about when we think about Tennessee is this amazing state tourism TV promotional commercial that aired on TV around 1990 (we know, we’re totally dating ourselves). It featured a bunch of different musicians and groups of people, from famed country music singers to a gospel choir to a barbershop quartet to a really cheesy ‘90s couple, and finally ended with a shot of a blonde hiker lady standing at the ridge of an Appalachian mountain, singing, “Come to Tennessee, we’re playing your song”. For some reason, it was so memorable to us that we can even recite the lyrics by heart: “There’s a song for you in Tennessee / Good times in harmony / So why don’t you come and join us / Come and play along/ In Tennessee, we’re playing your song / Come to Tennessee, we’re playing your song!” And we were like, YEAH! You ARE playing our song!

Anyway! The point is, it’s not hard at all to love Tennessee, and if you’re already a fan of the Tennessee Titans, then this isn’t even news!
